May 31st 2021

This week we’ve all heard of the horrible discovery of the remains of 215 children at a former Kamloops Residential School in B.C.

As a nation, as individuals and as a church we grieve with those who grieve and mourn with those who mourn and are ashamed of some of the things that happened in our nation’s past. We also understand that this tragedy is unfortunately ongoing taking on new forms today. While we can’t undo what has happened we have a responsibility to continually advocate for reconciliation and ensure we don’t perpetuate this further. We can’t change the past, but we can create a different future. Our hearts are broken and we’re thinking of and praying for our First Nations and all Indigenous friends today.

Thank you for joining with us in remembering.
