Overview
First Place Pregnancy Centre is a non profit, non political Christian charity providing fully informed choice and compassionate service to young women facing unintended pregnancy. Each year hundreds of lives are touched through First Place, and each year the numbers increase. The valuable services First Place offers have proven to be greatly needed in the Ottawa community. Our ability to reach into the community is made possible through community partnerships, the work of our dedicated volunteers, and partners such as Bethel.

Facts:
• First Place client contact in 2007 more than doubled from 2006!
• First Place contact with potential clients (i.e. phone calls, email, Facebook contact) rose by more than 50% in 2007!
• THRIVE Community Education Program has completed it's first full year of presentations as of 06/2008. THRIVE is in great demand in both the Public and Catholic schools, grades 7 - 12. The feedback from teachers and students has been exceptional, see www.thriveottawa.ca, for more information.
Bethel’s Mission
To support First Place in their efforts to provide an alternative to women who are pregnant and are considering an abortion.
Involvement to Date
• By providing First Place with monthly financial support for its operating costs
• Caring individuals thoughtfully donate material items made available through the Centre
Plans for the Future
• Continue to provide monthly financial support
• Continue to encourage individuals from Bethel to volunteer their time and talents in various ways at the Centre
How You Can Help
• By praying for the staff and volunteers who serve at First Place
• Keep up-to-date by reading the First Place News available at the Welcome Centre
• Support First Place by attending their annual fundraising events: Dinner & Auction, Great Strides Event, Golf Event
• By volunteering at the Centre or for Annual Events
How You Can Pray
• Pray for the staff and volunteers at the Centre, especially the peer support counsellors
• Pray for the clients who are faced with very difficult choices
• Pray for provision as the Centre receives no government funding
